Question:

Transfer xbox 360 game data, downloads, etc. to pc using a crossover cable.?

I bought a 60GB HDD for the xbox360 and I don't really want to purchase the data migration kit to pull the data off my 20GB drive. Is it possible to transfer the data to my computer's hard drive by connecting the xbox 360 directly to my computer via a crossover ethernet cable?

Answer:

if you had a wireless adapter for your xbox it would sync with microsoft.
it is impossible to tranfer files from you box to your computer without the tranfer kit unless you have a modded xbox. but to my knowledge all HDD purchased from a legit supplier will come with the transfer kit or at least they do here in Canada
No. There are only two methods you could use. One is the current Xbox 360s version of the action replay which is a memory card that can then be plugged into a computer. You can transfer the files from the xbox to the computer and then back however you will only be able to transfer files that will actually fit on the memory card. Most movies, videos, or full games you can forget about. Then there is the data migration kit which will transfer everything from one HDD to the other HDD. There is NO way to use the USB port of the xbox OR a crossover/ethernet cable to transfer data.
