I recently put a new transmission mount on my 1995 Chevy c1500 4.3 l 6 cylinder truck with a five speed manual rear wheel drive transmissionThe old mount was either worn down to nothing or cut and rigged to bypass the problemI don't really want to cut the new one in that case I should just put the old one back onIf I could squash the new down I might settle for thatDoes anyone have any ideas on how to lower the rear transmission without compromising the mount completely or perhaps the engine needs new front mounts to raise it up enough to get the clearanceIt's difficult for me to see the front engine mounts and I don't have an engine crane to hoist it up to change them anyhow, but if I need to I suppose I could do it somehow.
i have the same problem i don't no what to do sorry, don't think i can help .
i hate that that happens, but u could try to iron it.
This is a very interesting question
If the mount at the back of the trans had failed, the wear should be on the top of that shroud since the engine mounts would serve as a fulcrum for the additional weightCheck those mounts for cracks or damage.
