I am trying to transfer a set of files from my computer to my MiniSD card. My computer has no slot, nor a card reader, so I have to put it into the SD slot on my printer. The computer is a Dell XPS210 working on Vista, and the printer is a Kodak All In One.When I try to put a file on it, it states that the card is protected. The card is unlocked and sharing is enabled for all users. What is the problem?
The card is probably formatted in a format the computer doesn't understand. Some systems require cards to be formatted in a specific format so it can read it. Example NTFS FAT32 FAT Don't format the card now if it's loaded with pictures. Try to transfer the pictures via a usb cable that connects to the camera instead. Maybe that will allow the transfer. Sometimes you can copy the card data into a storage chip within the camera.
SD speed type refers back to the cardboard's minimum sustained write speed. mostly, the playing cards with quick write speeds (from digital camera to card) actually have quick study speeds (from card to pc). CrystalMark is definitely a reliable application for attempting out reminiscence playing cards.
Printer card readers are really only designed to read the card the images/data on them to print out what you want as long as it's in a format that's compatible, it is not designed to allow saving data to the card or any other removable media like a computer can, that's why you're getting the write protected message. You'll need to get a universal card reader that can plug into your computer with a USB cable in order to write to your SD card. You can get universal card readers at most any office supply or computer store.
