Question:

Updating old bathroom vanity. Your advice please!?

I have an outdated bathroom vanity (double sink) that I'd like to update but on a budget. The counter top and sink is beige in color (which matches the toilet and bathtub) and the wood cabinets underneath is oak (with a bit of grooved paneling). I can't afford to get all white fixtures so I thought I'd re-stain or paint the oak in a dark chocolate brown or dark walnut (?) or even almost a black just to give a good contrast in color. What do you think of the color combo? Beige sink, counter top with dark wood? or what do your think of a dark green or blue wood stain?I will be updating the faucet fixtures to silver and re-tiling the showers in a blue/green hue.thanks!

Answer:

In the event that you need to discover pleasant thoughts for woodworking i can propose you to check a website ( ( woodworkingplans.kyma ) ) It's perfect in the event that you are simply starting out or in case you're a prepared carpenter. It has thousands and thousands of woodworking arrangements and you have a CAD/DWG software to view and alter the arrangements. You have regulated instructions with photographs and excellent blueprints and schematics. On the off chance that you are a beginner this is the simplest approach to start your woodworking projects, and on the off chance that you already have experience you can at any rate discover a ton of interesting thoughts!
If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to.
I wanted to update mine and wanted to go with a shabby chic-ish type of look and bring my vanity and over-the-toilet cabinet look together. My vanity also is oak w/the grooved paneling. I just painted mine white. I like how they turned out though I do have white/off white fixtures. I'm not sure how I'd like the darker colors you have chosen. The way I figure it they look so bad waddaya got to lose?
I would not paint the vanity dark. Paint it a lighter color; off white, cream, beige. The beige is not a bad color. My tile is Pink/gray and the bathtub is Pink. Everything else has been changed out to white. The tile is in excellent condition and I have no plans of getting rid of it. I am just going with the color and it looks really cute....retro. We bought a vanity top at a thrift store for $10 and got a new faucet. The tub is hid by a shower curtain, so no one realizes it is pink unless I tell them. Good Luck
Great idea. Chocolate or even dark chocolate is a great color for bathroom vanity. So you got that problem solved. Chocolate and beige gets my vote! What is your counter made of? If it is not granite or marble maybe you can tile over it. Tiles are not expensive, nice weekend project. But maybe you can keep it since if fits the color scheme. I do not see the green to well unless it is mossy green. Hey, Good Luck with your project!
