Answer:

this is because you need a silk tough pickaxe to pick up the ore but to get the dust it can be a ordinary iron pick
Sign up for the GI Bill, that way you can go to school afterwords at almost no cost. But their really isn't a whole lot, maybe weapon manufactures, you can also cross train after awhile being if want a more transferable job. Youll have a pretty great sense of pride putting those bombs on our jets.
Its a great job, did if for 6 years. Sheppard can be a lot of fun if you just buckle down and work hard. You probably won't start school right away though. Be prepared for a couple weeks of details before your class starts. Once you're there you will find out what airframe (fighter, bomber, ect) you'll be working. I was actually there for about 6 months. I was at tech school 10 years ago, so I'm sure some things have changed. There were day and night classes. Both cover the same material of course, but get graves if you can. A much better environment! Not much to do off base, but enough to break some of the boredom. I only worked fighters (F-15/F-22) so couldn't' tell ya what the bomber world is like, but the weapons community in general is a really tight group of people. You'll have plenty of fun and get to go on some great trips.
I too find it odd that someone would list a job they know nothing about. EDIT: oh, okay then, that makes sense ^_^ to answer your question: 2W1X1 - AIRCRAFT ARMAMENT SYSTEMS Summary: Loads and unloads nuclear and nonnuclear munitions, explosives, and propellant devices on aircraft. Manages, controls, maintains, and installs aircraft bomb, rocket, and missile release, launch, suspension, and monitor systems; guns and gun mounts; and related munitions handing, loading, and test equipment. put simply; It's the guy who puts the the guns(Bombs,Missles etc) onto the plane and unloads the leftovers. (how exciting :P) Tech school can last anywhere from 32 to 90 days depending on which aircraft you are assigned My BMT starts May 4th as well, If you are in fact a real person we may actually end up seeing each other at some point ^_^
