i have bought a multi card reader usb device, which my windows do not installs automatically. what can i do to install it automatically? The card reader and the cable both are ok.i don't want to install new window. As i plug in other usb devices, they do work.when i insert the card reader cable into the usb port it detects only 1 removable drive in My Computer window, whereas it must have to show at least 3 or 4 removale drives, such as Removable Drive I, Removable Drive J, Removable Drive K, Removable Drive L.In my case, it only shows Removable drive I, and it do not opens the contents of the SD Micro card.please help me to solve this problem, Installing new window is not suitable right at this time.
This is a bit of a reach, but my first suggestion is to try another port. The other day, I was in a class where the student computers were semi-new Compaq Presario laptops. Each of the computers had two sets of USB ports on either side. The student next to me could not get her flash drive to work. I plugged it into a port on the other side of the computer, and it worked fine. What might be happening: laptops sometimes come with both USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 ports. All USB 2.0 ports will run USB 1.1 devices, but the obverse is not always true. If you're jacked into a USB 1.1 port, your computer may be able to read one of the slots, but not the others. You can also try the device in another computer where you know you have a good USB 2.0 port, to see if it works. If you have the same problem, you probably have a defective card reader. If it's new, send it back. If it's not, get another one. They're pretty cheap nowadays.
