I have a usb card reader that reads all kinds of chips (Camera, phone) but when I try to use it my computer doesn't register it being plugged in.Any suggestions?
I think you need to update your motherboard usb driver
nicely it relies upon. i do no longer think of you propose a USB slot through fact maximum telephones don't have one i think of you propose a SD card slot. If no longer, maximum telephones have mini USB slots so which you may want something that has a mini USB on it, for the digicam is extremely relies upon some have mini USB slots, some have commonplace ones, and others have completely diverse ones. in case you propose an SD card then to your telephone you may probable desire a Micro SD card. to your digicam you may probable desire a common SD card, except you have a Sony digicam then you extremely might want a reminiscence Stick Duo.
Card reader is just a plug and play device. It doesn't need a driver for a computer to recognize the device. So regardless of what computer you have, may it be a Windows OS, Machintosh, etc. is should be able to recognize the hardware. Unless, the usb port on your computer is broken or the card reader itself is broken. Its either of the two. You can try to plug it on a different computer to check its functionality.
Incorrecto-mundo other helpers! There are usb card readers out there that NEED a driver believe it or not. I ran into this problem with some Kodak compactflash card readers and had a Microsoft certified engineer help me out on that one. Odd eh!? Google the product for the driver.
