Question:

Want to buy a lightweight fishing rod and reel for trout /bass. lake& stream, bait & lures. Recommendations?

I've read that Shakespeare Ugly Stiks are good. So many sizes, choices. Don't want to spend a fortune.

Answer:

I agree. Statistics in Australia show that you are 32 times more likely to be seriously injured or killed on a motorbike than in a car. I agree that motorists may cause a number of bike accidents but riding in dark clothing, and weaving in and out of traffic on a high speed machine that affords no protection whatsoever is a recipe for disaster. Such an activity would score miserably on any risk matrix and would simply be prohibited as a result. At the very least, regulations should be introduced making it mandatory that hi-viz safety clothing is worn at all times over leathers, etc. Additionally, the cost of third party (injury insurance) should reflect the increased risk of death or serious injury.
No one ever said they were safe. Once you've ridden one though you'll get why some people are so addicted to them, they are a lot of fun (a great way to beat traffic jams too) and a sports motorcycle is far cheaper than a sports car. I haven't ridden for years (expensive insurance, no space to keep a bike) but sometimes I do still wish I had a small bike or maybe a vintage classic.
You are comparing apples to oranges. The regulations are different for both. Jeeps have no side doors too. And here where i live any classic car is exempt from the airbag/ seat belt laws too. Should we pull all them off the road? I understand your point but eliminating motorcycles ( and what about bicycles) would be impossible.
Co2 is carbon dioxide, which puts out most fires which do not have their own oxygen supply. and since it is a gas and not liquid it is safe for electrical. I would just be careful for liquid fuel since the force of the gas coming out can spread the liquid. IE a chip pan fire, with hot oil spraying you can be injured or spread the fire if not thinking, as in turning off the heat source. but the best in a car or home, a as long as you remember that also you need oxygen as well as the fire, so tackle and get out fast before you collapse, leave the real fires to the fire brigade. you endanger yours and their life's. If you are still not sure ask your local fire station they will help you understand
How about making cars safer so they won't hit motorcycles all the time? Cars really should have sensors to tell if you are about to hit something and can force you to not hit it. Probably 90% of motorcycle accidents are because some car hits them and was not paying attention. I know because I was hit by some dumb woman that just turned right in front of me while I was on my motorcycle. When you are on a motorcycle you become way more aware of your surroundings and you don't have all the distractions of cell phones, radio, passenger talking, etc.
