What are non-metal and metal oxides?
I wouldn't consider screamo metal. I vote with extreme metal.
Subgenres suck mix em all together thats a good sound lol u want tech and sped go with the extreame you want passion and heart go with the core both have ALOT of crappy bands in them though lol
I prefer the -core genres (metalcore, deathcore, synthcore, nintendocore, etc.) If you say that there are too many subgenres then simply disregard them, listen to what you like, no one is stopping you.
I have to reiterate since you did mention Thrash for the Extreme side, It too has it's roots from Hardcore Punk scene. Thrash is really just Thrashcore in todays genre sense. If the music is good listen to it. Labels mean squat. Screamo should never be added to a list of Metal genres, any REAL Metalhead would know that
Not even close. Black Metal, Death Metal and Doom Metal wipe the floor with all the core bands, they have songwriting which the core side can't come close to match. This question is a joke. I understand there are some good core bands (I listen to some) and in no way bash the genre. But putting these genres in contention is absurd. Not that all the Black and Death metal are chastized kittens (just listen to Decide) but core is akin to festering crap most of the time and should honetly be washed down the toilet. Plus the vocals sound like a dead horse who's bowls have been eviscerated. Second group is just about X10000000 better.
