i am an high school student and i would like to to an independent study with a very cool auto teacher at my school, but i have no idea what i want to do any suggestions would be helpful thanks.
Look at neighborhood technical faculties. You must consider approximately a profession in CAD paintings, or fitting an HVAC tech. There are tons of jobs that pay first rate wages, have a few task balance and are intriguing. Tech college have a tendency to be tons less expensive. Hi Gina D, Does your school have an Auto Workshop? If it does, then arrange a visit and talk with the people who actually work on the equipment and take notes. If your school doesn't have an Auto Workshop, then visit a local Vocational Training Centre and ask or arrange a tour as indicated above. There are several components to any motor vehicle, namely: The engine, engine management systems, electrical system comprising the battery, alternator, starter motor, ignition system, electrical wiper motor, transmission unit, steering and linkage, brakes, fuel tank, fuel lines and filter/s, lift or transfer fuel pump, and for diesel engines, a fuel injection pump and injectors. Of course there is also the car body which for many modern cars is also the chassis and usually houses the front and rear lights and reversing and forward sensing devices. Vehicles have shock-absorbing systems and brakes are hydraulically operated. Many are equipped with abs automatic braking systems to prevent the wheels locking up when braked so that the driver has greater control of the vehicle. Most engines are water cooled and fitted with air-conditioners. Many modern vehicles incorporate self-diagnostic devices to help auto technicians to fault find or trouble shoot electrical and other systems. So clearly, you have plenty of study opportunities.
