Its not the brand of hoover you use.Dyson does have brushes if its an upright, its the style you choose. All upright hoovers have brushes and you will get the same problem not matter how good the brand. What you need is a cylinder hoover, they dont have the rotating brush which is your problem, so stick with cylinder style, choose the brand you want but I agree you would be hard pushed to find a better make than Dyson, they're great.
