it is a ge side by side ref freezer with ice maker the crusher and auger quit working. i put anew auger motor in but still not working. what else could be wrong?
Defrost the freezer. Locate the switch that senses the presence of ice. This switch is defective and needs to be properly adjusted or replaced. If you have the Owner's Manual, read it and look under the trouble- shooting section for your problem. Make sure that the auger is free and can move ice cubes as needed. You can try cleaning out the unit (before you defrost it) and see if it's just the harvest switch that's out of adjustment. Feel free to e-me if all else fails.
