Question:

What do u think my manager meant when he said this about one of the employees at work?

somebody said he needed help with something and the manager said, should i get the fire hose out and sorta laughed. What could this mean

Answer:

If a court of law would find your comments libelous (resulting in economic damages to the firm), perhaps you can be sued if the language is in the public domain. It's an interesting and difficult new area of the law, the difference between privacy and greater public interest. The Judicial Branch hasn't caught up quite yet. The threat of suit deters most people. You will have to decide if you need the hassle, in case they go through with it and file a suit for damages.
Yes. But by no means the same ratings, either pressure or temperature.
