Driving over a speed bump in a careless manner resulting in injury to a passenger is not different than having an accident resulting in injuries of those within the vehicle.can anyone explain this to me clearly?
It's not the best idea. It creates a bit of damage having them walk or trot on a road because of the stress it puts on their joints. Since their feet are ahrd (hoof or shoe) it's harder for them to obsorb the impact of walking on the road which can put them in a bit of pain after a while. Best to avoid it if possible.
its not great for them but they can do it. i personally would not with my barrel horse its not good for they hoofs and legs. its like you stomping on hard ground that doesn't give. they can get sore from it as well. but if your not going far or if its not an everyday thing your horse should be fine but be careful cause there shoes will slide on the road that's why most road riding horses have borium on the bottom of there shoes.
It sounds to me the well pump is starting to go your your pressure tank has a leak in it. I would call a plumber. best of luck.
Load of rubbish that trotting on roads is bad for a horse. It is standard practice in the UK for horses to do road work at walk and trot to help get them and harden their legs. The trot should be steady and not fast so that the horse is slamming its feet down. When the horses here come into work they spend a lot of the time doing road work, lots of long slow trotting up hills. Roads are no more slippery wet than dry but heat will make them a bit slicker. All our horses are shod with a road stud to help grip.
