Question:

What happened to my rear axle?

Ok, so I was a little rushed on the way to somewhere today and missed the turn, I quick made a sharp turn, it was pretty fast too. On my way back I heard a sound coming from the back, turns out my tire Is rubbing against the frame of the vehicle. Upon further inspection we noticed that the right side tire was out further than normal, and the left side tire was in so far that it was rubbing against the frame of the vehicle. The name of the vehicle is a Ford Explorer Sport Track 2001, it has 255,000 miles and has a problem with the second gear shifting. I am not good with cares so i don‘t know what it could be, I thought maybe my tirods, or axle, either way, thanks for you help.

Answer:

It sounds like the axle is bent. I would look at it. If that is the problem it would probably be cheaper to replace the car. Besides after 255000 it probably don't have much left on it.
The entire differential has shifted to the right. This means part of the suspension holding it in place has either bent or is broken. GET IT LOOKED AT AND FIXED ASAP
