What happens to small metal objects when struck by lightning?

Say an object like a can or a discarded knife was to get struck by lightning, would it be able to withstand it, would it explode or would it melt?

Answer:

If you are able to knit or sew, making your own dog clothes is a cheap option and the patterns are really simple to follow, the other alternative is to use stripey socks and make cut outs for the legs, there are some videos on you tube to show how to do this. If you do decide to have a go at making your own clothes, offcuts and oddments of material are available in most fabric and wool stores, the great thing is, you only need very small amounts. If you have anything that you dont wear anymore, you could cut it down to make something for your little four legged friend, here is the link for the patterns, don't forget that you can reuse them, using different wool or fabrics, so the cost of the pattern will be worth it.
No, if I try to put clothes on my maltese mix Charlie he rolls on the floor and chews on them until we take them off. My aunt has pug who has to wear sweaters in the winter because she gets cold but she loves them. I guess it just depends on the dog.
No! The only clothes my dogs wear are their collars and fur. The only thing a dog should wear is a jacket, when it is cold out.
My dogs have jackets for winter walks. They usually only wear them if they have been groomed recently and are going from full coat to close shave. They look really cute in them though.
I think first and foremost the Rams need to look at their QB coach. While Spagnulo may be to blame, there are some serious issues with Bradford's development as a QB. Last year he looked like a future elite; and this year he just looks lost. He hasn't progressed as a QB and given the talent he showed last year, there's something seriously wrong with his development. If the Rams don't figure out what that is, a promising career may end up getting torpedo'd through poor coaching.
