Question:

What is a 7:1 card reader like in a laptop?

I am like technologically challenged, and the laptop I want has a built in card reader. It is labeled 7 to 1. I dont know what that means, does that mean it will fit regular SanDisk SD cards???please help!!!

Answer:

A 7:1 card reader means a 7 in 1 card reader. It's one device that can read 7 different memory card formats. It's difficult to know what formats unless you read the specs, but SD cards are common enough that a multi-format card reader is very likely to support that format. I'd be very surprised if it didn't.
That means it has 1 drive that will read 7 different types of memory cards. You know, the memory cards that go into camera. You say you have an SD Card (SanDisk)? That is a VERY popular standard and I would bet my life that the SD is one of those 7 types of cards that your laptop can read.
