Does a gaming computer need a card reader?Why would you need a card reader?Also, if i am putting together a new computerdo i have to buy a seperate sound card or is there one built in some where (motherboard?Graphics Card?)?
a card reader would be for any type of memory card,mini sd,micro sd,so for a digital camera mostly or maybe a phone memory card but you don't need one but even if you did want one you could get a 13 in one reader for about 15 bucks anywhere if you want more info let me know and if you want to gme your probably going to want more than integrated sound which all motherboards have built in,i guess if you can tell me your motherboard i can check for you but it should def have built in sound ,no the video card wont have built in sound,do you use speakers or head phones,whats your speaker config,2.1,5.1,7.1?

A card reader is designed to read memory cards, such as a CF card (compact Flash) or SD (Secure digital, also a type of flash memory card), or a Memory Stick. These are most commonly used in digital cameras. You don't absolutely need a build in one, but it's becoming something of a standard. You can get stand alone plug-in card readers, they are USB devices that you just plug into a USB port.
card reader is for reading memory card(NOT USB) just memory card. the one you take picture and save it in a small memory. so. 1. no 2. read up. 3. depends on the cpu you are getting. if you are getting a 1 core cpu, i vote you get a sound card. since the onboard eat up cpu and ram. yes you have to get a video card to play directx 9 and 10 games. that crapy onboard wont cut it. ps: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 $250-$300 (4 core cpu.)
