dont use THHN or conduitUse 6 romexmake sure its not service entrance cable thoughit will be blackthat will have your two hot conductors and the groundIt will be much cheaper and way easier to runI've been doing electrical for about 6 years now and have run this wire for this application countless timesmake sure you size the breaker according to the unithalf inch hit lock connectors will work best alsodon't forget to get staples that will fit wellas far as crawl or attic that would be totally up to youkeep in mind with any wire 6 or larger you do not have to drill holes in a crawl so you could just staple to the bottom of the rafters.
