Question:

What is a quartz? Is it a stone?

I am looking at rings and am wondering what a quartz is? Do they come in all colors or only one? Are they cheap? Also if you saw one is a wedding band would you think it was gaudy?

Answer:

Unless you're talking about some weird name for some illegal drug, actual quartz crystal will: A - Make your nose bleed severely B - Not get you high in the least C - Have absolutely no positive effect on your health or spiritual well being D - Almost certainly land you in the emergency room very, very embarrassed On second thought, if you have seriously considered doing this, you probably deserve the Dawrin Award anyway.
Quartz is almost completely non reactive. The acid of the your stomach wouldn't even dissolve it. It would just pass though and not get absorbed at all. The crystals aren't good for you. If a lot of it got into your lungs you might get a condition called silicosis. Even macrophages with their powerful enzymes don't destroy it.
