it could help to suffocate the flames. It cuts off the air it relatively is feeding the fire and can placed the fire out. be useful to no longer fan the blanket. only drop the blanket on and bypass away it. it somewhat is somewhat suited if the guy on fire can roll on the floor. yet whilst they at the instant cannot roll, then patting them with a blanket places out the fire and protects you from catching on fire.
to keep him warm :) no, the same reason you chuck sand on a fire or stomp on it. it basically suffocates the fire. fire needs oxygen to burn, if you stick a cup over a candle it would go out because there is no oxygen. so by throwing a blanket on top kind of suffocates the fire out in a large area.
i just got ceramic on the top and metal on the bottom as other people wil say it totally depends how much work you are having done, and ceramic are a bit more expensive. Ceramic def look way better! i am so glad i got clear on top! they arent even noticable!
Ceramic braces are less conspicuous and they do the equivalent to the metal braces, the cost is usually a little bit more, but those that want them usually count the cost as worth it. Both look and work just fine.
