When I turn off my windshield wipers on my 97 Sunfire they stop in the up posiion, Is it the switch or the motor?I am hoping someone else had this problem and I know where to start
The crank arm assembly (oval piece of metal that is connected directly to the wiper motor shaft) is worn internally or the depressed park actuator arm is not making contact with the metal tab on the wiper motor mounting bracket. Check the tab on the wiper motor mounting bracket, being sure that it is not bent and it is able to engage the wiper motor crank arm assembly. Replace the crank arm assembly if the tab on the wiper motor mounting bracket is OK. THERE IS A SPECIAL PROCEDURE TO REPLACE THIS.I would recommend taking it to a shop!
