Beside, what's the difference between CRT and LCD monitors?
A CRT or cathode ray tube monitor is a glass tube not unlike a picture tube in a TV set. It has a long neck and can be easily identified because the cabinet will be deep. A cathode ray tube uses an electron gun to shoot electrons toward a phosphor screen. An LCD monitor uses what is called a liquid crystal display.
The CRT monitors are the fat ones. The LCDs are the thin ones. LCDs are usually less than 4 deep where CRTs can be more than 15 deep.
Aside from the obvious, the space they take up, the LCD monitor have better color definitions. The CRT is big, looking like a small tv and uses more electricy than a LCD monitor. Because CRTs can collect dust in them they work harder than a LCD monitor. There are many more differences but I don't think that you want to go into the internal construction of CRTs vs LCDs. Suffice to say that LCDs are better.
The old monitors are CRT monitor. CRT means Cathode Ray Tube. The re is a cathode ray tube in it. LCD means Liquefied Cristal Display which includes layers of liquefied cristals in thick glass panel. CRT's have more Radiation than LCD's. So CRT's are harmfull for eyes.
