Question:

What is the average price/rough estimate to mount a front tire on a sport motorcycle?

I need a new front tire for a 1999 Suzuki GS500e that I just purchased. I have found a ton of great deals on tires online, but I am unsure how much it would cost to have this tire mounted at a motorcycle shop. Any pricing estimates would be helpful. Thanks!

Answer:

cold air intake system car
10 to 50 bucks with you taking the wheel of the bike. If you have them dismount and remount the wheel on the bike, it will likely cost you an hour's shop time which is 60 to 110 bucks. Some shops won't mount tires you didn't purchase from them. Call the local shops in your area and ask the Service Rep.

$15.00 to balance and $27.00 to remove, mount and reinstall
OKthere are alot of points on here, but I'll keep mine simple. Will a cold air system add some horsepower? Yes. Why? A Cold Air system implies that air is being added to the cylinders at a cooler temperature than where it normally grabs air from. Cold air is denser than warm air, meaning although you wont necessarily get more air into the cylinder, it will be colder than you normally get, i.e. denser, and therefore will cause greater combustion which more power. Cars often pull air into the cylinders that has already run across your radiator to cool it down. That air therefore is warmed before entering the cylinders where it's mixed with fuel and ignited. You may already notice some difference on how your car runs on a hot day versus a cold day. Some of the people are dead on correct when they say that you may need an exhaust capable of letting more air through your car. The air in (the dense air before combustion has now heated and expanded) needs to be able to get out, so more air can be brought back in. As an FYI, people that add on the noisy exhaust fart can may actually be impeding horse power (depends on the manufacturer), if that fart can impedes the air trying to get out of the exhaust. Those are the two typical cheap ways to make power. Another way is to lighten the car (100lbs of weight in the car typically means 0.1 seconds on a drag race) Chips you can buy at a store or off the internet may or may not help once you've started modding the car. Some cars are computerized and the car itself can change the air/fuel mixtures to run lean or rich to some degree, but having someone dyno the car and properly tune it wont hurt either. My best advice would be to find a car forum for either Volkswagons or similar style cars and ask the people there what they've done.
