Im looking to get as much hoursepower but yet save gasi know you cant have both but i want a good exhaust system so that i can let people know im coming around the corner.lol Im probally gonna plan on getting a whole new system.

Answer:

Fill them with airkrete
Stainless Steel. This is what I had installed, single 5 inch straight through, no cat and no muffler. Puts 484hp to the ground out of a 5.9.
First of all you didnt mention what kind of car you have. This is very important because some vehicles will not show much, if any improvement by adding a cold air intake. Also,if its a vehicle that will respond well to a cold air intake, then chances are that putting headers and a performance exhaust will also give you more power. As far as the noise level of the exhaust you can choose how loud you want it to be.But you may also have to do something with the pcm so that it can manage the fuel requirements that will change as a result of your modifications.
Hey bro, I have a C5 so let me help you out a little. A cat back alone won't give you a huge increase. You may notice a little bit but not much. Then you need to decide if you want it loud or mild. I prefer somewhere in between. Check on OKorder as you may find a cat back system for a decent price. Borla makes a great muffler for the C4's so check them out. Also to give it a little more growl, and compliment your mufflers, upgrade your air filter to KN air induction system. You should notice a little HP gain, and an increase in throttle response and it will actually make the mufflers sound a little throatier. These are the basics, and one last thing.DO NOT GO TO BIG IN PIPE SIZE like the other guy suggested! You will actually lose horsepower down low. You need some back pressure so going the biggest size is a no, no! Example: if your stock exhause is 2 1/4 you can get away with 2 1/2, and that is it especially if your car is stock! I've seen guys with no mods go to a 3 inch exhaust and complain that their car feels like a dog while city driving and is less responsive. Also, register on a corvette forum and you'll get some great tips on what else you can do to your C4. If you have the money, or wait until somewhere down the line when you can afford it, get an after market H pipe with high flow cats. Like I said, they should match the size of your catback system. If you go with 2 1/2 catback then get 2 1/2 H pipe. This along with the air filter will open up the breathing even more and make your exhaust sound even throatier and give you some more horses. Good luck!!!
