Question:

What is the best material for damping vibrations caused by a speaker?

I'm currently doing a university project and I'm mounting woofers in a wooden (ply) box, but there's too much unwanted vibration when we turn the speakers up. My question is what's the best material to damp these vibrations? and how should it be mounted (between the speaker and the wood or where the wood connects to the main section of the box)?Using MDF isn't an option, I was thinking rubber or foam or something similar. Thanks in advance.

Answer:

It sounds like dentist-speak for a filling that was on 3 surfaces of the tooth (say, top, side, and front), and that she got that done on 2 different teeth. Just trying to remember from the last time I got a filling, I'd say like $400? I'm probably wrong.
It would probably turn your testicles into light bulbs. On the serious side, if you want to know how electrical shock feels, grab the spark plug of a running lawnmower. Do not do this on a modern automobile as there is enough voltage to stop your heart.
There is a reason Myspace is blockled at your school. It contains alot of adult content and alot of spyware and adware. Maybe you should spend a little more time learning and a little less time on myspace. If you do some learning you may learn how to get it to work on your own.
