Question:

What is the difference between a filler and an additive? Both are used in making a plastic pellets.?

Please help. I need it in my paper. Thank you!

Answer:

extremely tough thing. try searching on the search engines. that will help!
A filler is an inert substance that gives little to the properties of the plastic, but makes it cheaper. An example would be clay or calcium carbonate. An additive is a substance that modifies the properties of the plastic, such as a pigment that gives a colour, a plasticiser that changes the flexibilty.
No, they are different bolt patterns as well as having different offsets.

From my understanding, a filler IS an additive that is commonly used to inexpensively increase volume or fill gaps within the material. An additive is more of a broader classification, which is used to modify a material's characteristics and encompasses anything from fillers, stabilisers, pigments and plasticisers, to name a few.
