Question:

What made my motorcycle tire go flat?

I was doing about 60 in a straight line and heard a pop. I then noticed the riding felt a lot different. Came to a safe stop and turned the bike off and as soon as I did that, I heard the air still hissing out of my rear tire. Found a small jagged looking hole right on the corner of a tread. Nothing was still in the tire. Called a buddy up, loaded it in his truck. Now I‘m getting a new tire. Just curious on what could have caused it. 2003 Yamaha R6, tube less tires. Thanks.

Answer:

my guess you ran over some debris that was to large to stay in the tire . even a sharpe stone can cut a tire you never know what is in the road that has fallen off a truck or been tossed on the road
Any piece of scrap in the road. One night I got a flat on the way home. I thought I broke a spoke at first. The steel rod sticking out of the tire was the right length and diameter. Turned out to be just something I picked up going around the curve.
