chev caprices 350 turbo transmission, with overdrive
Your Transmission has an Input shaft that is powered by your engine.
The CRANKSHAFT spins the TORQUE CONVERTER all the time the car is running. The TC spins the mainshaft of the transmission. As long as the engine is running and spinning, the pump which is inside the transmission will be turning. Think of it as the HEART of a transmission, it's blood is automatic transmission fluid. A running engine powers the transmission pump, just inside the tranny. If someone has told you your pump is going out, try changing the fluid and filter. A shot of LUCAS transmission additive may not hurt. If that does nothing, it may be time to swap out your tranny. PLEASE TO EVERYONE If you need help with a car PLEASE STATE THE YEAR, MODEL, ENG. SIZE, AUTO or STICK, MILEAGE, just the basics. There are too many vehicles out there with REPUTATIONS.
