what's the difference between pressed wood and plywood? Also how can you tell what's what?

Pressed Plywood
Pressed wood is made up of shavings and chips which are glued together under very high pressure. Plywood is several thin layers of solid wood which are glued together under pressure.
ditto answer no 1 ...to tell the difference...look on the side or ends ..you will see multi layers in plywood ...ply is all so much stronger
