Question:

What would be a good intruder alarm system (sans video) VALUE FOR MONEY wise?

i know there are motion detectors, glass break sensors, door/window sensors and video. i know too that there are auto dial systems. heat and carbon monoxide sensors.but i just want the simple door/window sensors motion detectors with dial feature thank you!

Answer:

Not really. Alot of people wear knee/elbow pads and helmets to help avoid injury, but that's more for protection against the terrain, falling and the like, rather than protection from BB's. Alot of people also wear mock ballistic plates, but that's more for the realism and to buff out their plate carriers (mine is to loose without them) than protection. Airsoft BB's are pretty harmless unless they hit you in the eyes or the teeth. The only other pieces of gear i would reccomend to you for BB protection is a lower face mesh, because BB's will chip teeth if they hit you when your mouth is open. Obviously, you onlyneed this if your not using a full-face mask. The other optional but highly advised thing is a pair of gloves. There are two places that getting hit REALLY hurts, the nose and the fingers. Your nose should be covered by a mesh or a mask anyway (and you don't get hit there much) but you'll find your leading hand (the one at the front of the gun) get's hit alot (especially if you use a vertical grip). Obviously I mean a pair of thinner gloves designed for shooting, not mittens. I would recommend the Mechanix gloves, they are pretty cheap (around $20 for a pair) and are a favorite with real life special forces.
Only if your a pu$$?. When your balls drop buy a paintball gun

Depends on where you go. My buddy and I went to Rio last April. Cococabana, the famous beach has a main road that goes along the beach. There are several streets that run perpendicular to the beach drive. We stayed at a hotel down one of those streets about four blocks from the beach. We walked along it, to and fro everyday for two weeks. We walked all along the commercial district going into shops and laundries and such both day and night and we never had one problem. But there are areas of Rio that even the taxi drivers wouldn't go and we certainly would walk them alone or at night. It is just like any major city in the world. If you know where you are and where you should not walk, you will be fine. I would add to that, that we are two 6 ft. guys and we look as though we can handle any situation. Not speaking the language was the biggest problem. And in my opinion their language is Brazil's biggest problem. Nobody else speaks it, except Portugal. Also, I carried a small canister of tear gas spray in my pocket and had my hand on it if I thought we might be followed, but we never were. Just be aware, ask questions and you will have a great time. We took a day tour of the city the first day we were there and we got to see a lot of the sights the first day and we also got to learn where we could walk and where we shouldn't walk.
