Question:

Whats Better New Or Old Chargers?

Also Is a 70 charger quick and more powerful then the gto in the70's?

Answer:

Well, I had a love affair with a certain 74 SE Charger.it was the courting car for a special romance. And beyond the mechanical goodness was the fact that it was this car he drove when he taught me about working on cars, and the fact that he and I also fell in love in this car with one another. Now, could a car get any better than that? He finally had to sell it. One day we found it again in the parts yard--we recognized the work we once did on it. He's since passed away, but he still lives in my heart with the memories of the cars we worked on, and the love of our courting car. Yes, the old Chargers are definitely better.
The new Charger is better. Lighter and a little more aerodynamic than the old one. And the Old 70's V8's made little power compared to today's cars. V6 cars made less than 200HP and V8 cars made less than 300HP. But now, technology is better and newer engines mke much more power.
I would have to say the old chargers. they have a much stronger body. more dependable motor and frame, and easy to work on. parts are cheaper too. as for the new chargers there only good for fuel millage. and not much else. and with an old charger your able to fix the bad fuel millage, pretty simply
40 years ago Dodge Chargers were rattle traps many with a 340 engine some with a 440 engine and very few with the Hemi. Today those old cars have rusted out trunks rear window that leak. And K frame under the front rusted where it connects to the unit body. All 70's cars were not as good as you remember they were. Gasoline Hogs carburator cars which do not produce the 400 hp 20+ miles a gallon available these days
