Question:

Whats the best way to sample live sounds??

I want to start using everyday items in my productions (house hold items, outside sounds, animal sounds, etc,.) like Matthew Hebert (producer of quot;Scalequot;, quot;Bodily Functionsquot;, quot;Plat Du Jourquot;).I'm going so be sampling these sounds and using them as the actual instruments (drums and otherwise)Can you offer advice, web links, etc,.??????

Answer:

I don't know web links or anything but you're gonna need a mic depnding on what you're sampling, preferably an instrument mic, and you'll need a place to do this, like a quiet place, like the bathroom (with the fan off) or somewhere with insulationBe careful with the asbestosIf you use the attic.
When I make pies, I poke the pie crust with a fork to let air escape and I brush the inside of the bottom crust with beaten egg, which is supposed to seal out the moisture to some extentIt may help to pre-bake your crust; most lemon meringue pie recipes I have seen call for a pre-baked crust, so that may be your issueIt might also just be that these crusts don't hold up well and you need to try a different option
