I put new wiper blades on my windshield wipers and now when it rains the wipers are ‘shuddering‘ or ‘skipping‘ across the windshield. What is wrong? how can i stop this?

It sounds like you might be using them when there's not enough rain on the window. If they do this in steady rain, then you may have some kind of greasy or sticky substance either on the wiper blades or windshield. Check the blades to be sure there is not anything on them - a good wipe with paper towels should do. Clean your windshield with a good glass cleaner - e.g. - Windex. I would also check your washer fluid for foreign debris - if it appears oily, empty it, wash it inside with vinegar and refill with brand new fluid. Also check that the blades are not pressing against the windshield with too much force. This is highly unlikely but it's better to check everything. bne
