Question:

When are studded snow tires legal in Utah?

Just wondering the date range in which snow tires are legal in Utah.

Answer:

If you use cheap Chinese batteries, this will happen. Most detectors use 9V batteries, which can be costly (for good ones) relative to cheap junk. However, you will buy four of the junkers for one decent battery. Use Energizer or Duracell - accept no substitutes. Just to clarify, we mains-driven detectors at our summer house. A set of Duracell batteries in them keeps going for one full year. A set of junk in them will barely last a month. Mains-driven or not, the battery is still part of the circuit and if weak will cause them to chirp.
Just because you bought it new in the store means nothing. It could have been stored in the factory warehouse for 6 month or longer or it has hung on the shelf for several months before you bought it.Once the chemicals are put together as a battery, it starts to discharge.(slowly but still it starts dying)Maybe you have been unlucky and bought from store that does not sell batteries often. Just don't plan on being lucky on the Lottery. I have had the same situation happen.
I don't know if this will help, but one of my smoke detectors once started chirping at 3:00am, so I turned on the light and saw a moth was fluttering around it. It has a small light on it which may have attracted the moth. I killed the moth and the chirping stopped, so maybe there was a correlation. I understand your frustration. Somebody really needs to re-engineer them to be about 99.99% less annoying. Your batteries shouldn't be going dead at such a pace, so it must be something else, or they are being drained for some reason.
Clothes, LOTS of clothes lol, mostly shirts, but some pants and skirts too, and 6 pairs of fuzzy socks, :) I also got a new TV, a new CD player, and a new laptop, :) I also got a few DVD's, a few CD's, a few books, and some Sudoku book, :)
Don't your detectors have a green or red light showing when they are on AC power? Mine do and they are at least as old as yours. It certainly sounds like they aren't getting steady power. They Should Not be on a switch, and shouldn't be on a circuit with anything else but they might be. By any chance are you turning off the breaker to the garage door opener or anything else on a regular basis? Just for fun try pressing the test button. After a few moments it should sound and a moment or two after that the others should join in. If not then for sure there is something wrong with the wiring. They should be daisy chained so if one triggers they all do. Current code requires a detector in each bedroom, outside of each bedroom (or common hallway), top of stairs and I think I'm forgetting one.
