who has good pricing for laminate wood flooring? How much and how much sq ft does it cover...thanks!
The prices will vary from about $1.00 to $6.50 per square foot. Best thing here is not to buy by price. The cheaper laminates don't last long. Look for a major brand name and buy laminate that has at least a 20 year guarantee. As far as how many square feet a box covers that will vary also. You just have to read the box to find out. NOTE: it is best to remove the baseboards before putting the floor down. It is cheaper than adding 1/4 round molding to cover the gap near the walls. Also: if you want the flooring to look professional cut the casement molding on the door frames about 1/4. That will allow the flooring to slip under the door frame hiding the gap there.
any flooring company or home depot lowes etc will carry laminate, the price per sq foot will range anywhere from 99 cents a sq foot up to 6.50 a sq foot. it will depend on the look, quality and the size of the boards so your sq footage will differ per carton. remember though that laminate can be damaged by water so dont put it in bathrooms.
Laminate flooring can run you anywhere between 2.50 to 6.00 per square foot. Your underlayment will cost anywhere from .50 to 1.00 a square foot. Laminate flooring has come a long way, they have it down to where it almost can be passed as real hard wood floors but the upkeep is rather easy and scratches are hard to put in it. You will want to take the width times the lenght of the area you want covered to find your square footage. ie. 10x10 is 100 sf. Good luck and enjoy when you make your decision.
