When driving i get a whining noise from the driver side sounds like the wheel any ideas. 2001 stratus
You should generally use both brakes. 90% of the stopping 'power' comes from the front wheel. (Front wheels have 2 disc brakes!) If you only had the rear brakes, you would be severely limited in your braking ability.
front brakes are all that stop you in an emergency. grab a handfull of front in a hurry the rear will go light this is the quickest way to stop once the back is light locking the rear will do nothing to slow you down you should practice grabbing a handfull of front so you dont lock the front wheel when you need to stop in a hurry. rear brakes are for holding on a hill to start from stop. low speed stopping.(under 10 MPH) you can use the rear brake to control wheel spin/ wheel stands. at the rear when taking of fast
Could be the bearings, or possibly a break pad, Have it looked at. Your wheel is letting you know there is something going wrong. Have it looked at, it only takes about 15 minutes.
Sounds like a wheel bearing issue to me.
check the wheel bearing on it when they first start going bad they will cause a slight whining noise in one of the wheels,i own two of those cars and have already replaced one on each car and sound will travel on those cars what appears to be on one side may actually be coming from another point on the car, good luck.
