My friend just bought a 2006 focus, and i noticed when he was going about 45 mph, his steering wheel was dancing and vibrating. I personally have never seen a car vibrate at that low of a speed. I asked him is your balance thrown off, and he said, not the dealer balanced all the tires. I would think something is wrong in the suspension system (cv boots, struts?), but the car has 10k miles on it. My friend says thats the way Fords are they shake like that at those speeds. I think thats a load of crap, but i‘m guessing the problem is the tires? they could be defective? What do you guys think?
At 45 MPH I doubt its a balance issue, i would look for a bent rim or bad tire. Good luck
There's a suspension problem somewhere. Have the tires checked and re-balanced. If the car has small tires, balancing issues will show up easier because the tires rotate faster than larger tires. If that doesn't fix it, then take it back to the dealer or a reputable mechanic. There is something wrong with car. No car, regardless of maker, should rattle and shake at 45 mph. if there's nothing wrong.
Tell your friend to have the tires checked for out of round.
