I just have a cheap toaster, it takes a long time to do it's work. I bought my son a little toaster oven some years ago when he was still living at home, because he liked grilled cheese on toast. He woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me there was a fire in the kitchen, Sure enough there was smoke everywhere and flames coming out of the toaster oven. I turns out he had decided to bake cookies in it in the middle of the night in it. Tip: Do not bake cookies in a toaster oven ! Oh, and invest in a fire blanket !
i find i usually have to buy a toaster every 18 months but after reading these answer it looks like i will consider a toaster oven next time. i think i will get one when i get paid. thanks for asking the question and black and Decker's if you save the receipt and they stop working you can usually trade it in and get another one. sunbeam i think works the best if you have a low budget your just making toast anyways.
The toaster that I have is a Black and Decker. It works fairly well.But it kind of caught on fire once.lol.Not the whole thing but there was fire.The toaster oven is a convection oven.Hope I helped.
I have a regular 4 slot toaster, with wide slots for bagels and such. It is just an inexpensive one I bought at Target. I haven't used my toaster oven in years (it's stored in the garage). When I did have it out I used it to warm things, and to make small batches of stuff like garlic toast. I guess I used it like I use the broiler in my oven. My family has grown since then, so I need more cooking space. They are really good to have though if you do small batches of stuff because they don't take as long to heat up, and of course they're easier to clean.
