Question:

Why doesn't my card reader work on my computer?

I have a SUNPAK high-speed multi card reader. I have had it for months and it has been doing just fine. Suddenly, my computer doesn't recognize the card reader. The light for the card goes off but not the light for read. It's the same memory card, same computer, and same card reader. I don't see why it doesn't upload the pictures anymore. Please Help! Detailed step-by-step would help the most.

Did you recently reload or upgrade the OS or maybe add a new service pack? Chances are you lost the driver. Even if you didn't upgrade or anything the driver might have just gone corrupt. Could also be a virus so make sure you run your anti-virus software. Anywho, go to the Sunpak web site and re-download the drivers for that reader. After you install them you should be good.
No the card readers should not need any additional drivers, XP should read them as an ordinary card reader, and u will be fine. HOWEVER, if there is a problem, then u just need to check HPs web page and download the drivers off the site. But im pretty sure u wont need too.
