a resistor is provided in the base of the smoke detector, why it is provided and its purpose
Probably carbon monoxide. You're probably dead by now
are they duo carbon monoxide detectors?
If they are over 10 years old or about replace them. They have lived their usable life span. Time for new ones along with piece of mind.
if it is really that difficult to get ether end of the hose. you can remove the end attached to engine ether ? Then go to the auto parts store and buy a slice / repair kit for heater hoses . it cost $2 . it is a plastic pipe and 2 hose hose clamps . Then you can cut the hose , do your flush , the attach it back together with the slice kit. But why dont you just remove the end of the hose that attaches to engine ?
heat or some gases can trigger smoke detectors. not all smoke is visible, some is barely detectable, and since smoke tends to accumulate upwards towards the ceiling you may not even smell it.
