Question:

Why should we help the people that were affected by the fires in California when we have poor homeless people?

I recieved a letter from a politician asking to send blankets and other things to help the fire victims. Why did I not recieve that same letter to help the homeless people in Los Angeles. OHHHH They dont vote. Help me! Is this a political move. What are your feelings on this issue. Those houses were second homes to people and Million dollar homes. They have insurance I am sure they will be fine. What about the real people in this country. Give me a break and WAKE UP.

Answer:

Evidently, you've already made up your mind not to help. However, along with those well-to-do people are average wage owners who also lost their homes. Those are the people in the stadium, homeless and perhaps, destitute, and needing your blankets. Its the American spirit of volunteerism that built this country and the letter was a way to help remind people to participate, become proactive, rather than sit back and watch. After all, democracy is not a spectator's sport.
Why should we help people in Cali when they can just go to their vacation homes in Vale or the Caribbean?
So the reason you haven't help the homeless up to this point is because your waiting for a letter? Not every person who lost a house in the Southern California fires belong to a country club and drove Mercedes, most of them are just everyday people working a 9-5.
