Question:

Will charges show on CC when you rent a car if you pay in cash at the end?

I want to rent a car (from any company). I have enough cash to cover the rental plus all the insurance things for the time the car is rented. I dont have a personal credit card and i dont have the 300 plus cash deposit the companies would require.I DO however have a my job‘s credit card (which is in my name and could be used as a personal credit card if i didnt mind being fired lol). My question is, if i give that credit card to them and then return the cash and pay absolutely everything in full with cash will the hold or whatever they do show up on the credit card statement? I dont want to be fired but i need the car lol I hope i was clear.

Answer:

The rental car company will put a hold on the credit card to cover the rental. The hold will be lifted shortly after you have paid the bill in full. Make sure that you buy the insurance that covers any damage to the car such as dents and scratches. If not, any damages will be charged to the credit card. A little scratch or chip in the paint could end up costing hundreds of dollars. Good luck
It's amazing that you are willing to risk your job just to rent a car. When you play with fire you are bound to get burned.
