Question:

Will eating too much fiber make you weight more on the scale?

Will eating too much fiber content food make you weight more on the scale before going to the bathroom?

Answer:

Good idea! In my opinion natural grazing is the best way for her to put on some weight, so let her graze on grass as much as possible, and do you feed her Alfalfa? Its a really great way for them to put on a bit of weight, and you can gradually increase or decrease the amounts easilyAlso, of course any supplements are really great, but even giving her some senior grain mix or senior oat mix with her hay can help really well! The oats can also provide her with more energy if she seems a but slugish, which can help her be more alert toward you and help with her trainingGood luck! :)
DO NOT FEED STRATEGYStrategy is for easy keepersYes, it is for PERFORMANCE horses, but it is not for a horse that needs weightThat is what we feed a horse who is insulin resistant and is prone to becoming obese and founderingHe has lost almost 150lbs on Strategy (feeding the recommended amount for his activity level)Corn oil and rice bran is what always worksI rescued a TB mare last year, ~200lbs underweight and really malnourishedShe has been on a feed that has rice bran in it and she gets corn oil over the wintersShe has not had a problem with her weight since.
Try worming her with a different wormer or have the vet check her stool for worms, we had an Appaloosa that came in during the last of the fall and we found worms after he had been wormed the third time with 3 different wormers, so we got some liquid Ivormectin and gave him now we are not seeing any more wormsMake sure you call the vet and have him check her again, sounds like some intestinal problem.
Seeing as it's winter are you rugging her sufficiently? Horses can burn a lot of calories trying to keep warm in cold conditionsThe same may apply if she is over ruggedShe may be sweating, therefore losing conditionTry getting her onto rice bran, rice bran oil or equi soy (powder)They are all non heating weight gain optionsThey will not cause the horse to get fizzy and will add cool caloriesYou may also want to try speedi beat or something similar as this will aid with the horses digestion should it be a problem she is having with her gut digesting her hard feed Keep doing what you are and have the vet fully informedIf you change diets do it very gradually as you don't want to cause colic and this can be triggered by rapid changes in feeding regimes.
Not really, maybe like 4 ozBut most diets that actually work are high fiber dietsLike weight watcchersHigh fiber diets work, especially weight watchersBut no, fiber diets b4 going to the bathroom only affect you about 4-5 oz.
