windshield wipers question. freezing temps?

last night at around 4am wen i was going home on my lunch break i tried 2 wipe the dew off the windshield. but the wipers wouldnt move. it made the sounds but they didnt move. i touched the dew and it turned out it was ice/frozen. the dew that was even on the hood and the roof was frozen. after 1 hour wen i was going bak 2 work i thought it would b alright but they still didnt work. so wen i got off 4 hours later and the sun was off i was sure they had 2 work. but they still didnt work. wen i pick the wipers off the windshield they move perfectly fine but wen i put them down on the windshield they dont move. whats wrong with them/what do i need 2 do??

Answer:

As long as its clean, I really don't care. If you get a girl cos she likes your car, she's not worth it. Guys who spend way too much money customising their cars need a priority check
Well you blew the wipe fuse, and here is why. When the wipers got frozen to the windshield and you turned them on thy moved just a little and when the wiper motor felt the resisence it blew the fuse. Check the wiper fuse.
Goldwing has given you the answer. I'll give some free advice: 1) Next time you see the wipers don't work immediately, don't try to make them work again until you have freed them from the ice on the window. 2) Someone gave me a trick for freezing temperatures: when you stop your motor don't turn the wipers off first. So they'll keep wiping until the motor stops. Stop the motor when your wipers are in the up and down position. that way they will retain the shape of your windshield (once left down they tend to straighten out and when they freeze in that position they do a terrible job of wiping!).
