Question:

Wrong packaging for my taquitos, are they still safe to eat?

Ok, so you know how frozen foods usually have, after taking it out of the box, a plastic bag over it? And also the plastic bag has 2 opposite sides with an extra flap of plastic so you can open it easier? Well, I've bought these same taquiotos before and they were in such packaging, but today, I opened up a box and it was missing the 2 flapsSo um is it safe to eat these taquitos?

Answer:

the cream of mushroom soup/gravy will separate on defrosting I cook the pork chops then freeze them separately half done! I don't like putting creamed dishes in freezer.
here is what I do for any cooked food that I want to freeze: I first put the food into a freezer safe containerThen I allow it to refrigerate until it has lost all heat then I place it in the freezerOnce frozen I remove it from the container I froze it in and either put it in a freezer safe storage bag, or I seal it in a bag using my Food saverWhen I want to cook it again, I will place it back into a plastic container to thaw or if it is soup I will place it ina pot over low heat to slowly thaw and then cook.
Food is protected by proper packagingLike the sardines in can, juice in aluminum pouch, vinegar in bottlesWrong packaging may render the food spoiled or unsafe to eatWrong packaging is like: dent can of sardines, teared aluminum pouch of juice or open bottle of vinegar You would consider it not safe when you are in doubtDon't risk your life for it!
