Answer:

Short circuit, animal in the house like a mouse or rat, battery needs replacing, someone trying to force door (just because no signs doesn't mean it didn't happen), someone tried to open a window or door and closed it fast when alarm went off, someone was up out of bed but managed to hide from you before you found them 'asleep'.
The proper speed depends on the ice/snow condition of the road, other cars etc. The main thing you want to do is slow down much sooner, as you get comfortable driving in the snow/slush/ice you will get a better idea of when you need to slow down. You want to lightly apply the brakes and keep them on until you stop, there is nothing wrong with stopping sooner rather than sliding through the light or stop sign. On a long hill you might keep it at 15-20 and start applying the brakes 50ft before the light, I can't say for sure as I don't know the hill or the conditions of the road. As I said when you get more experience you will not end up stopping short or sliding through lights/stop signs, the worst case you stop too soon being more careful.
first of all you have to slow down. then yu dn't push on the brakes alot either you be very careful. i mean its like with ice you have to be careful you can drive but very slow sometimes driving on the edge of the road helps it depends on how much ice and where you are. snow is different if you have snow to drive through just so easy and slow you will get there.
