she has not shown herself to be clean and sober for any great length of time. she has not been in their lives for 7 years. she should start with some type of supervised visits to ensure she is clean,the kids don't even know her, maybe of her, before you jump to thinking about custody. the courts will not remove children from a steady home to go with a person they don't even know. who has no employment, no home of their own and no means to support the children. o mom can have custody and live off child support and welfare doesn't sound logical does it? in the end you would have to prove the kids are being violated in some way to ever have controlling custody. she should get her life together without the kids worry about mommy's next relapse
