Question:

07 ford focus abs light after drum brake adjustment?

took it to the shop to have drum brakes adjusted and now abs light is on, is it something stupid that i can fix or should i take it back.

Answer:

ABS light means that your Anti-brake system has turn it self off found an fault. Your brake system should be operating normally despite the ABS light but if you do get into an accident the abs won't kick it during sudden braking. So, take it to the shop because they are responsible to make any adjustment when they made the repair. Just have your work order ready, they will plug in a ABS Scan tool to see what went wrong. Sometimes the sensor will get dirty during brake service from grease or Brake Cleaner Low Tire Pressure could cause an Abs light. Good luck if anything go to Auto zone/Advance Auto Parts ask for free scan tool check copy down the error code Google it. Good Luck
Yes, having an A.T. flushed or fluid changed is a must, u actually should have had it done every 30,000 miles, this decreases the amount of particles left behind in the trans and improves the lubrication and shifting quality and smoothness. Dealerships charge alot for these things but give you a guarantee on the work performed.
Here's what I know: Transmission is one of the most expensive items to repair. Not every service station can repair them. It takes a specialty shop, or a dealership. A s;pecialty shop could do a repair. A dealership would not bother. They would just replace the whole transmission. If you've never had a transmission 'tune-up' and the dealership advises to do so, I would advise you to have the tune-up done at a transmission shop. Since you haven't had any transmission trouble in the past, it's just advisable to get the transmission tune-up. A specialty shop would remove the pan cover and check it for uniformity; remove the transmission filter and replace it; remove the gasket (which seals the cover to the transmission pan) and replace it; and remove the old fluid and replace it. Couple of hours work and not to expensive. Good Luck.
They damaged the sensor. Take it back.
probably knocked the wheel sensor out when adjusting the brakes, sounds suspicious as most drum brakes today are self adjusting, does an 07 focus even have drum brakes(on the back)?
