Everytime the locks go off they make a wierd chewbacca sounding noise. Any ideas on what it is? How to fix?
For more information, I suggest getting The Stud Book from or Bit of Britain. You probably need a set of small grass studs and a set of small road studs. I know that they have big ones in the catalogs. Those are really for the professional riders in severe conditions. For an amateur at Prelim, the basic, small studs should be all you need. Never put a sharp stud on the inside hole. Always put the studs in no more than 30 minutes before your ride time and take them out within 30 minutes afterward. EDIT - It's always good to ask your fellow competitors what they are using. Apparently, the upper level riders do this all the time. Stud selection is not an exact science.
I don't have that particular model, but I do have a heated dog bed. The instructions indicate that it should NOT be placed on carpeting, upholstered furniture, etc. It should be on some type of hard, fire resistant surface. It's okay to put it in a dog crate provided it has adequate ventilation, that the crate door be left open and provided there is enough room in the crate for the dog to move to should it over heat. ADD: While the instructions didn't say not to leave the house with it on - I never did. Maybe I'm just a little paranoid, but I always made sure my smoke detectors were in good working order and that I, or someone was going to be home.
